In 1992, MTV debuted a show called The Real World. It was considered one of the most ground-breaking shows of our time. It took a handful of Generation X Americans and documented their time together in a house as it happened. The experiment introduced the struggles with social and personal views into many of our consciences. Though not the first Reality show ever, it gave birth to the Reality TV trend. Taken away from us too early, it was a special show that changed the way many people judge each other. The Real World is nothing like it is nowadays! All these people want to do on there is have sex, drink beer, get in fights and appear on TV! I could go on and on about how it’s beating up a dead horse, but saying that would be an insult to horses. When are we going to get rid of this show so we can talk about what it did right instead of what it did wrong?

Putting that aside, we are going to give it credit for staying on the air for over 20 years and producing 30 seasons, as well as starting the Reality TV trend. Plus, when you go back to its prime years, those seasons are strong enough to rival Seinfeld, The Sopranos, and Breaking Bad.
