Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Big Brother (but were afraid to ask)

The Huffington Post put out an in-depth article yesterday about the show. They failed to get an interview with any of the Big Brother producers (who were too chickenshit to confess their sins). They did, however, get 15 veteran cast members for this article, including:

  • William Collins – the first ever eliminated contestant in the show’s first ever season
  • Mike Malin – three-time player and All-Star champion
  • Danielle Reyes – two-time player and Big Brother 3 runner-up
  • Jack Owens and Erika Landin Rich – Big Brother 4 power duo
  • James Rhine – Sovereign Six member and our patron saint of Big Brother 6
  • Eric Stein – America’s Player from Big Brother 8
  • Sheila Kennedy – one of the few contestants to ever play Big Brother in the winter
  • Dan Gheesling – Big Brother 10 winner and a fucking master
  • Jeff Schroeder and Jordan Lloyd – Big Brother 11 lovebirds and currently engaged
  • Chima Simone – she was expelled on Big Brother 11
  • Ian Terry – Big Brother 14 winner
  • Andy Herren – Big Brother 15 winner
  • Jason Roy – freshly evicted from Big Brother 17

This is a wonderfully written article and a must-read for any Big Brother fan. It reveals everything about the show. From the first casting call to after the final episode. From the stuff you already saw to what you never even caught on the live feeds. From what was real on the show (surprisingly, most of everything that happens in the game) to what wasn’t real (the astroturf). From the best parts of being on the show to the worst parts of being on the show (the twists are bullshit). It provides a lot of optimism about the future of the show (you’re definitely going to need it before you read our Double Eviction recap later today).

LOSER’S CIRCLE – The Web of Racism and Bigotry on Big Brother 15

It’s never a Big Brother season without controversy. But on Big Brother 15, the show outdid itself. Aaryn Gries, Amanda Zuckerman, GinaMarie Zimmerman, Spencer Clawson, and a few others sparked public outrage for carelessly speaking comments of racial insensitivity.

Big Brother 15 Recap

I know I can’t take it back, but I’m sticking to my story. They are all worse than Evel Dick. This isn’t the Big Brother house. It’s not even prison. It’s not even HELL. This is the kind of house Bruce Campbell would get trapped in while trying to escape evil spirits!

GinaMarie: “At least my mom wants me, unlike yours.”

That’s literally the worst thing ever said by a human. This house is pure evil.

YOU ACTUALLY BACKDOORED JUDD? YOU FUCKING FUCKERS OF ASS!

Remember when CBS did Survivor: Cook Islands, the terrible season of a reality show that tried to come off as racially insensitive? THIS is the terrible season of a reality show that actually was racially insensitive! Even if they did have some cast members that we can like, Big Brother found a way to kill their likability too, because that’s what this show does: it kills reality.
