As part of the mutual agreement I signed with Allison Grodner, I have to start off this recap not by puking on this show, but by praising it first. Allison Grodner has done a good job stepping in as Executive Producer after their near-fatal first season and turning it into a successful show. Along the way, it’s given us some great seasons, great moments, and great players. But sometimes, whether they come up with the worst twists for each season or they make the wrong casting decisions, it hasn’t always lived up to its “Expect the Unexpected” motto. And as a result, it promotes some of the most ungodly behavior in all of humanity.
During the summer of 2007, Big Brother concocted a twist that reunited three pairs of enemies for the entire game. It was the show’s most emotionally taxing season ever, but it definitely wasn’t their best. This season was tainted with unorthodox behavior, the meanest of spirits, the hokey production and casting value, and the messiest of twists you might find anywhere. Sure, you’ve seen it all done worse elsewhere, but the combination that’s seen here makes it the most unpleasant one to sit through.
It’s one thing to talk about it, but it’s another thing to experience it. So may the force be with us as we attempt to experience Big Brother 8.
